‘No good deed goes unpunished’, is what starts off this whole crazy book. When Victoria tries to stop an escaped criminal, Jamil, he needs to get back at her, and being one of the more important criminals on the Caribbean island paradise, he can do a lot to spoil Victoria’s dream vacation.
It goes from bad to worse for Victoria when she meets Alex, an old lover who left her with a broken heart many years ago and they both have unrequited feelings for each other, Alex more so than Victoria. Yeah it’s a fairly common romance plot, but it works because of the snappy dialogue which isn’t sappy or annoying, but is snappy and is bound to make you chuckle at least a few times.
And then things get even more exciting for Victoria when she becomes the prime suspect in a murder. This woman just cannot catch a break, and it seems like half the island is hunting for her. Fortunately she has a perfect accomplice for all the drama in the form of Julie her bff, who helps keep things light on the few occasions where Victoria seems to be getting a bit too overwhelmed.
The characters are well done, even the serious Alex doesn’t leave you thinking he is boring or totally wrong for Victoria. And Victoria is a delightful main character who you will be rooting for the entire time. The dialogue is seldom dull, and even the most basic conversations seem energetic, you can really feel their excitement in this. And the plot is fast paced, interesting and while some of it is clichéd, it uses the cliché to help the story so you can easily get into it like a comfortable sweater.
I can’t wait for the second book in the series.

Never knew what will happen next, had my suspicions. The main characters are crazy and make no sense, so easy to be confused and distracted from clues.
This was a really great story. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters, the humor was outstanding and the ending fantastic! The Author did such a great job keeping us interested and entertained!
WHAT a great read! Lotsa interesting characters, intricate, well -developed plot, and a fabulous surprise ending! Laughed a lot during this exciting book that I read in one sitting! Looking forward to a follow-up novel very soon!
I have had so much fun reading this book by Leslie Huggans.....Seven Days and Six Worst-Case Scenarios.....what a hilarious, action-filled, off the wall mystery!!!! There were moments when my face would hurt because I was grinning so hard. Victoria and Julie are like a modern day duo of Lucy and Ethel or Shirley and Laverne. Lots of humor, action, way out characters and a plot that is simply delicious. I loved it. Highly recommended. Will be eagerly awaiting more from this author.
Funny, dry wit, beautiful surroundings, crazy girlfriend, Victoria and her friend Julie are on vacation but awful things happen to them. Chased by the police and all kinds of bad guys/girls after they discover the body of a well known criminal they try to solve the crime themselves. And then there is Alex, who once broke Victoria's heart, but seems determined to win her back after all these years.

I totally loved this book!! It was a rollercoaster ride and I want to go for another. So I hope Victoria will go on vacation soon.
This is an adventure all wrapped up! If Victoria and Julie thought this Caribbean vacation was going to be smooth sailing, they were wrong. Everything goes wrong as they get caught up in a crime ring, not only that but Victoria’s college boyfriend, Alex is there too. It has been twelve years since Alex disappeared on her and now she has to deal with old feelings resurfacing.
I can’t believe how entertaining this book was. Most romance/mystery novels are so predictable, but honestly this one is pure fun and has a lot of humor too. I would recommend this book, it’s an easy read and I can’t wait for more from Leslie Huggans!

It has thirty-eight chapters, no titles just numbers, an epilogue and an author bio at the end. I was happy to see that this is going to be a series. I loved the location in the Caribbean.
Huggins writing is terrific. It is full of personality, it is smart and sassy. Every ingredient I look for in a book. You cannot go wrong with that combo. I loved the quirky well defined Victoria Douglas character, pretty much everything about her. She is believable and genuine, and would be a blast to have as a friend! I enjoyed the relationship she has with her bestie Julie, it is a real hoot. Terrific book. I will be watching for the next installment.
